TANSTAAFL, this the saying that Robert Heinlein used in his book The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. It is something we have all heard before, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch! This applies to everything in the world. Even the most basic functions of nature require some sort of "payment" even if it is just in the form of plants gathering nutrients from the soil. The human world requires even more obvious payments, we all require payment to live. As such, we also generally require payment to work, especially when it is a job that is high in demand.
Given these facts, I am always befuddled by the attitude that games like CoE which are free to access and play should not try to make money from their operations. One might say, well of course …Read more >

So I created this Blog in hopes of facilitating further discussion of this topic. I currently do not have a clear position on this topic so look for me to comment later on.
The below subjects were posted by users on The Discussion section of the Etiquette page and have been moved here.
This is a forum meant for discussing your viewpoints, please feel free to tell me I'm an idot and have no idea what I'm talking about, but keep it clean and respect the other users who post and their opinions!

The majority of bug report discussion seems to be owed to a few facts:
• The game is public, but officially in beta state.
• Ohai's info policy on bug exploits and how to deal with them, as well as on admitting, if th…

So, I have created this blog post from removing some discussion from The Discussion section of the Etiquette article in the interest of creating a better forum for discussion of this particular topic.
Here's the way I see it: I do not think there should be an easter egg list created by Ohai, like the user mentions below, "Easter eggs are meant to be found, so announcing them is kind of ruining the fun of easter eggs" Concerning The official request topic below: I think that is an interesting idea, but would not like to see Ohai implement it. While bug reporting etc. is important to Ohai, I think that their priority is to game-play and trying to get as many users as possible. A window like the one described in the forum post might serve to …Read more >
So you want to trade?
One of the big complaints I hear all the time is that people are selling their stuff at too high of a cost in the game. I’m sorry if you are a socialist, because CoE is not a socialist environment. The markets of CoE are much more like a complete free trade zone. No stinking tariffs to get in the way, no government restrictions (beyond the god-like control of supply) no complicated economic stimulus packages. We see supply and demand at its best. When there is a shortage on an item, we see the price go up. Yeah, sometimes there are supplier created shortages (such as someone buying a ton of Ohais then running around buying up all the bags available and hording them until they get the rubies or trade they want), but th…Read more >

After much anticipation, Ohai has finally released the beta version. This mean that not only are there all sorts of new features in the game, but also a whole list of new problems. Oh the joys of testing! So it is time to put our zen hats on, and realize that there will be stuff that doesn't work, but it is our job to help Ohai learn about these problems so they can fix them.
Ohai has made a couple of requests of us concerning reporting problems. As wiki contributors, I feel like it is our duty to try to facilitate Ohai in their requests. In so saying, here are the steps that we should follow and suggest to other player in the event of a problem. Also please direct people to this Overview of handling problems page.
Step one: Go to Vampire Di…

Can you think of any way that we can get the CoE player community more involved?
The more people we get working on the wiki the better it will get. Slowly but surely there are more people. I want people to think of the wiki as their first resource, even before they use some of the resources that Ohai makes available. What do you think?

So you have minions, awesome. I do too, sometimes. Problems with minions is one of the continual bugs that plagues us Alpha testing Undead. When they work, minions are super awesome. They produce items, rubies and experience with little input. Unfortunately for some of us, they do not work. For a while the main problem with them was that they did not return rewards from their missions. Now, I find that I do not have any minions even though I am at level 18. I haven't had them for several weeks now. What is the solution you may ask. Really for the player the only thing we can do is practice patience while Ohai fixes things. My understanding is that the main problem with this bug is the interface with facebook. Friends and such are not bein…Read more >
Hello CoE undead!
Well I have been seriously enjoying working on this wiki. So far I have mostly just worked on making maps for others to use. I have also created a page about minions. I think we can make this into an awesome resource for new and long-time players. I have been trying to get mission descriptions completed here and there, but we really need newer players to contribute for the earlier missions.
Además, estoy buscando a alguien que estaría dispuesto a traducir las páginas a español y otros idiomas para que podamos crear páginas en paralelo. (Google Translate)
Eh well I guess I'm not really all that good at this blogging stuff, hope to see your's soon!
Thank you Ohai, and thank you Tuna for starting this wiki.
